Clinical Quality

 

Aligning with the overall mission of CHC, clinical quality services are evaluated with education and assistance provided to help hospitals improve the patient experience, streamline services to the patient, and comply with accreditation and regulatory requirements.

 

Our approach is collaborative and tailored to the specific needs of an organization. We offer clinical expertise in:

  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Conduct Mock Surveys for regulatory agencies, such as The Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
    • Available to help prepare responses to unfavorable outcomes from surveys
    • Available to educate staff and directors regarding regulatory requirements
  • Nursing and Quality Assessment
    • Assist in improving the patient’s experience and the hospital’s scores on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey
    • Assist in aligning fiscal and clinical quality needs, for example, through evaluation of case management programs
    • Serve as a resource for Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs) and Quality Managers in daily operations
    • Assist in meeting productivity targets
    • Provide monthly newsletters for senior leadership regarding quality, patient safety, regulatory requirements and patient satisfaction
    • Assist with orientation of new CNOs and Quality Managers
    • Assist CNOs in assessing the appropriate nursing model for their organization
    • Provide training for staff and nursing leadership as needed regarding quality measures, staff relationships, physician interactions and leadership skills

Perioperative Assessment

 

A comprehensive perioperative assessment encompasses evaluation of all aspects of the surgical experience for the patient as well as evaluation of best practice efficiency standards and perioperative leadership skills.

  • Perioperative Assessment includes the following:
    • Establishing and meeting productivity targets
    • Conducting Perioperative Mock Surveys for regulatory agencies
    • Establishing best practice processes to meet perioperative benchmarks in efficiency
    • Providing leadership training and mentoring to new and established Perioperative Directors
    • Assisting with interviewing and securing perioperative directors for open positions
    • Developing a leadership structure for perioperative departments
    • Establishing supply/inventory guidelines and par levels to match surgical volume
    • Evaluating potential growth opportunities in perioperative services
    • Evaluating anesthesia services
    • Evaluating aspects involved with Gastroenterology Services
