Union County General Hospital

Compassionate Care for Our Community

Union County General Hospital, Clayton, New Mexico, is located among sprawling ranch and farmland in northeastern New Mexico. The hospital grew out of a physician’s home-based practice, and evolved with the help of pioneer nuns from seven-bed St. Joseph’s Hospital to the 25-bed modern, full-service, acute care hospital it is today. Our mission is to provide high quality healthcare services to residents of Union County and surrounding areas.

Our care team includes primary care physicians, visiting specialists, surgeons, nurses and other healthcare professionals who are highly skilled and dedicated to caring for you and your family.

We are very proud of our facilities, as they are some of the most modern in the medical profession. We offer a full range of services, including:

  • Inpatient Care
  • 24-hour Emergency Care
  • Surgical Services
  • Endoscopy Services
  • Laboratory Services
  • Radiology Services
  • Pharmacy
  • Rehabilitation
  • Clayton Family Practice healthcare clinic

In addition, we provide intermittent health services in your home. This includes consultation and home care assessments, skilled nursing and surgical aftercare, diabetic care, intravenous medication services, pain management, dietary instruction, and more.

Adjacent to the hospital, Clayton Family Practice offers convenient hours for community residents. So, if you need X-rays or lab work, it can usually be done the same day.
