David Butler

SVP and General Counsel


As Senior Vice President and General Counsel for CHC, David Butler is the chief officer responsible for oversight and guidance of all legal matters affecting facilities and organizations of Community Hospital Corporation. David also provides legal consulting services through CHC Consulting. He brings experience in the areas of healthcare, corporate and tax-exempt law to the CHC team.

 

Prior to joining CHC in 2006, David served the legal needs of healthcare clients throughout Texas as a Shareholder and Practice Leader at the law firms of Brin & Brin, P.C. and Cox & Smith Incorporated. Before private practice, he served as General Counsel of Incarnate Word Health Services and as Assistant General Counsel of Baylor Health Care System.

 

David is licensed to practice law in Texas and is a graduate of Baylor University and Baylor University School of Law. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Health Law Section for the State Bar of Texas, where he served as a member of the governing council. He is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America” publication for 2005 – 2015.

Jeffrey Kent

Assistant General Counsel

As Assistant General Counsel for CHC, Jeffrey Kent is responsible for oversight and guidance of legal matters affecting facilities and organizations of CHC. Jeff also provides legal consulting services through CHC Consulting. He brings 17 years of experience to the CHC team with a focus on healthcare and corporate transactional and operational matters.

 

Prior to joining CHC, Jeff served as Deputy General Counsel of Parkland Health & Hospital System and as Associate General Counsel of Radiologix, Inc. and RadNet, Inc. He has also served the legal needs of clients at the law firms of Patton Boggs LLP and Passman & Jones, PC.

 

Jeff is licensed to practice law in Texas and is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and Southern Methodist University School of Law. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Health Law and Corporate Counsel sections of the State Bar of Texas.

Linda Moore

Associate General Counsel

As Associate General Counsel for CHC, Linda Moore is responsible for oversight and guidance of legal matters affecting facilities and organizations of CHC. Linda also provides legal consulting services through CHC Consulting.

 

Linda’s extensive healthcare regulatory and legal experience comes from more than 12 years’ experience with healthcare systems including Baylor Health Care System as Associate General Counsel, Cirrus Health as General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer and Trinity Mother Frances-Tyler as Vice President/System General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

 

Most recently, Linda was with Weaver Johnston Nelson, LLC, providing consultative strategic legal counsel on day-to-day operational and regulatory compliance matters to hospitals, surgery centers, free-standing departments, physicians and other healthcare providers.

 

Linda has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, and her Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law, Ft. Worth, TX. (f/k/a Texas Wesleyan University School of Law). She is a member of American Health Lawyers Association and the Texas Bar Association.
