CHC Receives 2010 Viverae Vanguard Health Elevation Award
Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) has been announced as the recipients of 2010 Viverae Vanguard Health Elevation Award.
Viverae recognized CHC because of the company’s superior leadership in evolving their wellness program to promote health outcomes-based results. CHC exemplifies a successful corporate-wide health management program that includes top-down management support, comprehensive communications, creative program components, health awareness offerings and impressive vendor integration.
“We are proud to recognize the achievements of CHC as the 2010 Viverae Vanguard Health Elevation Award winner,” said Michael Nadeau, president and chief executive officer of Viverae. “CHC has truly set a high bar for establishing a strong program that rewards employees for health achievements and positive outcomes.” CHC was nominated by Viverae account managers and selected by a Viverae executive committee.
The Vanguard Health Elevation Award recognizes a Viverae client that exemplifies a successful corporate-wide health management program that includes top-down management support, comprehensive communications, creative program components, health awareness offerings and impressive vendor integration.

CHC partnered with Viverae in 2009 to launch a robust program that would decrease the number of employees at risk in specific benchmark categories. Primary improvements were in increased activity and nutrition habits in addition to a dramatic risk reduction in LDL cholesterol and cardiac risk ratio. In addition, CHC wanted to understand overall employee health status through health assessments and biometric screenings and to get employees to participate at a meaningful level that would yield results.
“With rising medical and pharmaceutical costs, CHC executives were looking to curb health care spend and turned to Viverae for help to jumpstart a program,” Nadeau said. “We have been successful working as a team to produce dramatic results for the overall health of the company.” To motivate employees to live healthier, CHC from 2009 to 2010, evolved their wellness program that continues to receive advocacy in areas of management involvement, outcomes-based incentives, communications and program innovation. All components contribute to CHC’s recognition of being an employer that focuses on being at the forefront of health and wellness.
