Community Hospital Consulting Announces Management of Houston County Medical Center

PLANO, TX – (June 10, 2015) Community Hospital Consulting, the management and consulting arm of Community Hospital Corporation, is pleased to announce a new agreement to manage Houston County Medical Center, Crockett, Texas.

“As we continue to focus on helping community hospitals achieve long-term success, we are excited to bring Houston County Medical Center into our fold among hospitals we own, manage and support across the country.” said Michael D. Williams, CHC’s president and CEO. CHC has a proven track record of providing the resources and experience community hospitals need to improve quality outcomes, patient satisfaction and financial performance.

Houston County Medical Center transitioned to management by CHC beginning June 1, 2015. During the prior 90 days, CHC provided Transition Services and collaborated with the Houston County Hospital District Board of Directors to transition hospital and clinic operations back to the District. That period offered: introduction of the new Houston County Medical Center, and Health Clinic at Houston County Medical Center names; and collaborative work across major areas – from Information Technology, Financial Performance and Clinical Services to Human Resources – with CHC executive teams working with the Board. Currently, CHC’s seasoned executive leaders serving onsite include Bill Rohloff, Interim CEO, and Lucy Norris, Interim CNO.

“We are pleased that CHC will embrace and further our mission in this community as we bring a whole new level of healthcare to the Houston County area,” said Larry Christopher, HCHD Board President. “This is an exciting and rewarding time. We envision a bright future for Houston County Medical Center, which includes keeping healthcare and jobs local and contributing to our economy.”

“We share Houston County’s compassion and mission to provide quality healthcare,” said Craig Sims, CHC’s SVP Southwest Hospital Operations, who has been integrally involved in Transition Services. “We’ve been very impressed with the energy among physicians and employees, and their commitment to provide excellent healthcare to this community. In all our work with community-based hospitals, we believe it’s most important to put the ‘care’ back in healthcare.”
