Community Hospital Corporation Named Among 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare

Plano, TX (March 19, 2015) - Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) was named among 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare by Becker’s Hospital Review. The March 16, 2015 announcement by the Becker's editorial team was based on workforce-centric awards received, benefits offerings, wellness initiatives, and efforts to improve professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and a sense of community and unity among employees. The list represents healthcare organizations across the United States.

CHC owns, manages and provides support to community hospitals nationwide and has consulted with hospitals in 25 states. For the second year in a row, the Becker’s list features both healthcare providers as well as other types of healthcare-specific companies, such as consulting firms, health IT vendors, medical societies and more.

“Everyone at CHC is honored,” said Mike Williams, CHC president and CEO. “Above all, this recognition is testament that we are passionate about our daily work and live our mission to help community hospitals – even as they face tough challenges.”

Williams, who recently received the Texas Hospital Association's highest honor, the Earl M. Collier Award for Distinguished Health Care Administration, attributed the award to the CHC team at large. He describes the CHC culture: “Everything we do is based on respect – for each other and for those we serve in the field. It’s that indescribable asset that makes you wake up in the morning and want to go to work and when you leave the office each day, it means knowing you made a difference in the communities we serve.” Many of the hospitals CHC serves are the ‘economic engines,’ the largest employer and only health resource in the community.

Some of the CHC highlights mentioned in the Becker's Great Places to Work in Healthcare recognition include: CHC Plano-based employees have private offices and as example of work-life balance, have access to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens for one year. In addition, the Plano office offers a special room for breastfeeding mothers. There's also an array of comprehensive employee benefits, including access to health, dental and vision plans as well as life insurance and a retirement plan that matches 50 percent of up to 6 percent of employee contributions.
