Dr. Juno of St. Mark’s Medical Center Named a “Texas Super Doctor Rising Star”


Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) is pleased to announce, Dr. Russell J. Juno, M.D., FACS, a surgeon at St. Mark’s Medical Center, which is a hospital which is part of the CHC family of hospitals, has been named to the 2012 Texas Super Doctors “Rising Stars” list published in this month’s issue of Texas Monthly. This recognition places him in the top two percent of Texas physicians.

 

Selections for this honored list are made by the research team at Super Doctors, which is a service of Key Professional Media, Inc. Each year, the research team at Super Doctors goes through a thorough multi-phase selection process that includes a survey of doctors, an independent evaluation of candidates by the research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.

 

Dr. Juno graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in 1995 from Baylor University. He then went on to obtain his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1999. In 2003, he completed a surgical research fellowship at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and in 2006 finished his surgical residency at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Juno has also authored several journal articles and book chapters along with receiving numerous awards.

 

“We consider all of our doctors here at St. Mark’s to be “super doctors” but we are proud of Dr. Juno who has received this special recognition from his peers,” said Nathan Staggs, chief executive officer, St. Mark’s Medical Center.

  

Dr. Juno has been practicing in La Grange, TX since July 2006 as a board certified surgeon. He currently serves as the Director of Surgery and Anesthesia at St. Mark’s Medical Center.
